Laurie L. Assadi, M.A.Ed.S.
Laurie is a Limited License Psychologist, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Hillsdale College in 1975 and receiving her Master's Degree and Educational Specialist Degree from Western Michigan University in 1979. Laurie worked as a School Psychologist for 7 years and has been in private practice since 1986. She is also on the Professional Advisory Board of Kalamazoo County CHADD (Children and Adult with Attention Deficit/Hyperativity Disorder).
As the owner of the Clinical Center for Learning and Development in Kalamazoo, Laurie has presented approximately 500 workshops for teachers, parents, diagnostic staff, therapists and counselors to provide insight and understanding of children with attention and mood disorders.
For nearly 30 years Laurie has been using her formal education, parenting experience and pure instincts to touch the lives of both children and parents. Her clinical experience has taught her that these children need a multidimensional treatment plan and she advocates working together with teachers, parents, physicians, and therapists so that each child receives the best we have to offer.
Andrea Deming, M.A.
Andrea Deming is a Limited License Psychologist, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University in 1976 and her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 1992. Andrea has worked at the Clinical Center for Learning and Development for the past thirteen years, with Laurie Assadi as her mentor and colleague.
She serves on the Steering Committee and the Board of Directors for Kalamazoo County CHADD, and she is the Professional Advisor for the Kalamazoo chapter of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance. A total of fifteen years of private practice experience, in combination with 31 years of marriage and raising three children of her own, has given Andrea the ability to help others in their quest for insight and self-awareness. She enjoys working with adults and children of all ages.
